New Mexico Third Judicial District Court (Doña Ana County) Judge Conrad F. Perea has been chosen as the court’s new chief judge, the court said in a news release. He succeeds Judge Manuel Arrieta, who served as chief judge May 2019-March 2023. Perea’s term as chief judge continues from April 2023-May 2025. Perea was sworn in as district court judge May 5, 2017. He served as an officer with the Las Cruces Police Department for 19 years and was a county magistrate judge for eight years before his appointment to the district court bench.
