County unveils new sign

Doña Ana County unveiled a new sign welcoming visitors to the Southern New Mexico State Fairgrounds west of Las Cruces Thursday morning, July 13. The art piece was designed and stained by county employees for its first annual DAC Gives Back service project. The sign was sponsored by the Illegal Dumping Partnership. The county Community Development Department staff also collaborated with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management the South Central Solid Waste Authority to bring the beautification project to fruition. Left to right are Rafael Leos of the South Central Solid Waste Authority, Kendra Madrid of the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, Doña Ana County Manager Fernando R. Macias, county Director of Community Development Christina Ainsworth and Assistant County Manager Deborah Weir.
