The city of Las Cruces and Las Cruces Police Department will host a town hall meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 23 in the Council Chambers at Las Cruces City Hall.
According to a news release from the city, the two main topics will be crime and the city’s unhoused residents. The town hall starts at 6 p.m. It’s expected to last an hour.
Jeremy Story, the Las Cruces police chief, will be the primary host of the meeting. He’ll present crime statistics from the last quarter compared to past years. The news release said Story will be joined by Nicole Martinez, executive director of the Mesilla Valley Community of Hope; Pamela Angell, the Amador Health Center coordinator; and Logan Howard, community organizer for Families and Youth Innovations Plus.
“The meeting will serve as an opportunity for residents to connect with LCPD officials, gain insights into current initiatives, ask questions and contribute to the ongoing efforts in promoting safety within the community,” the news release said.
For those wishing to attend who can’t be there in person, the town hall will run live on CLCTV, Comcast Cable channel 20 and Comcast Cable channel 928, the news release said. The city will also livestream the meeting at clctv.com and on the City’s YouTube channel.
