DACC lifts mask requirement following Governor’s orders

Doña Ana Community College (DACC) has announced it has lifted its mask requirement at its campuses and centers following New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grishman’s orders to lift the mandate and in line with guidance issued by NMSU Chancellor Dan Arvizu. 

Masks at all DACC locations will now be optional, with the exceptions stated below:  

• Masks will be required in health programs that prepare students for clinical or congregate settings. As these facilities continue to require masks, faculty and students moving in and out of these settings will be required to wear masks in DACC labs, clinical environments, and other instructional settings. Clinical and congregate settings include hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, adult day care sites, rehabilitation facilities, state correctional and juvenile justice facilities, residential treatment centers, the NM Veterans’ home, and community homes.   

• Masks will also be required in DACC’s Dental Clinic. 
• Masks must be worn by food service providers on campus. 
• Those who are isolating or quarantining should also continue to wear masks in accordance with CDC guidance. 

Masks remain an effective tool for reducing the risk of COVID-19, they will continue to be available for free in our classrooms and public spaces.
