Here’s a look at local high school softball and baseball teams as of April 26, as the district and state playoffs approach.

Softball:

The Centennial High School Hawks are 24-0, 13-0 in 5A District 3, and ranked No. 1 in the state.

Organ Mountain High School is 17-7 overall and 7-6 in district 5A-3, and ranked No. 10.

Mayfield High School has a 13-11 overall record and 6-7 in district 5A-3.

Las Cruces High School is 9-14 overall and 3-10 in district 5A-3.

Mesilla Valley Christian School is 10-7 overall and 4-4 in Class A/2A district 3.

The state softball championship playoffs are May 5-13, with first rounds at the homes of the higher seeds, and the rest of the games in the Albuquerque area.

Baseball:

An April 27 doubleheader between Centennial High School and Las Cruces High School will have statewide and district 5A-3 implications. LCHS, ranked No. 9 in the state, defeated No. 6 Centennial 6-5 on April 24, evening the teams’ district records at 11-2.

Centennial has a 20-4 overall record while LCHS is 18-5 overall.

Organ Mountain is 13-11 overall and 7-6 in district 5A-3.

Mayfield is also 13-11 overall and now 8-5 in district 5A-3.

Mesilla Valley Christian School is 8-4 overall and 2-2 in Class A district 1.

The state baseball  playoffs are May 3-13.
