The 2023 Dress the Child of Las Cruces fundraising dinner begins at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, at Amador Live, 302 S. Main St. Tickets are $100. This year’s theme is “Yacht Party 2 Mexican Riviera,” with eight food stations featuring dishes that will include shrimp with chimichurri sauce, Yucatan tacos, pollo al Ajillo and Coconut mango panna cotta. Hilary Floren, the long-time host of KVIA-TV’s Good Morning El Paso, is returning as master of ceremonies, and DJ Neo Kid will be spinning records from a variety of musical genres. Preparing the food are some of the finest chefs in Las Cruces, assisted by culinary arts students from Doña Ana Community College, with Centennial High School students as servers. There will be a giving tree at this year’s event. Dinner ticket sales are a major contributor to this year’s Dress the Child goal of $70,000. The program, sponsored by the Rio Grande Rotary Foundation, is in its 70th year.
