East Mesa Public Recreation Complex groundbreaking

The City of Las Cruces Public Works and Parks & Recreation Departments, members of the Las Cruces City Council and other City staff will break ground on the East Mesa Public Recreation Complex at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15.

Date: Tuesday, February 15 

Time: 3 p.m. 

Place: The end of paved road on Camino Coyote Lane, turn off Sonoma Ranch in front of the East Mesa Public Safety Complex (550 N. Sonoma Ranch Boulevard)

The East Mesa Public Recreation Complex will include a baseball complex, pickleball courts, soccer and other multi-use fields, parking lots and a roadway to the complex. It is being constructed to the northeast of the East Mesa Public Safety Complex and near Camino Coyote Lane. 

This project is part of the City’s General Obligation Bond Question to spend up to $16,900,000 to construct improvements to parks, including sports fields and other related facilities. This question received 57% approval by voters. 

Other projects under this question included Hadley Avenue Recreational Complex Improvements, Unidad Park, Parks and Sports Courts Improvements and Dog Parks.
