El Paso Electric to close Water Street payment center

Posted

El Paso Electric (EPE) will close its payment center at 201 N. Water St. in downtown Las Cruces effective Feb. 10, the company said in an email to customers.

“Post-COVID-19, EPE continues to see a major increase in both mail-in and online payments along with greater customer adoption of EPE’s digital and phone communication channels,” the email said.

Closing the payment center on Water Street will allow EPE “to add resources to the most utilized customer communication channels.”

To pay EPE bills, customers can visit epelectric.com and sign in to the El Paso Electric Manage My Account Portal to enroll in automatic payments free of payment processing fees or make a one-time payment, EPE said. Customers also may make a one-time online payment as a guest online using BillMatrix using an electronic check, debit or credit card. They also can download the EPE app or the Bill2Pay App (available on iOS and Android) to make payments by phone.

Customers who want to continue making payments in person will have the option to use the EPE payment kiosks as these Las Cruces locations: Inside the City of Las Cruces satellite office at 5195 Bataan Memorial West #2, open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, and outside the EPE building at 201 N. Water St., open 24 hours. Processing fees may apply at both locations.
