Feature film to shoot in Las Cruces

Posted

“I’ll Be Gone in June” will be in Las Cruces in March.

That’s the title of a feature film directed by Katharina Rivilis that will film in and around Las Cruces in March, as announced by the New Mexico Film Office.

According to a news release, the movie is a drama about a young exchange student who is drawn to small-town New Mexico rather than New York or California and follows her adventures in the desert areas of the state.

The film office said the production will employ 50 New Mexicans, with 25 crew jobs, 22 principal actors and 10 “background talent” positions (once known as “extras,” or performers who populate scenes but typically do not speak).

Rivilis also wrote the screenplay, according to Berlin-based production company Road Movies, which lists Rivilis as a producer along with Road Movies’  Léa Germain and company founder Wim Wenders.
