Hallowed ground to visit with dignity

Posted

Dear editor,

Dedicated in November 2005 for all veterans, dating back from the Revolutionary War to present world conflicts, the Veterans Memorial Wall at Las Cruces Veterans Memorial Park has names of armed forces casualties from Doña Ana County from World War I through Afghanistan to the present. The Vietnam wall has a directory with all New Mexican casualties.

This is hallowed ground to visit with dignity, paying tribute and respect to all men and women that sacrificed for our freedom.

Please stay on pathways — sidewalks, not on landscape gravel and grass. Grass areas are not to be used as a playground. You might step in dog poop. Dogs should be on a leash and with their handlers. Please use the playground area at the far west only, and practice patriotism when we raise our flag at 8 a.m. and lower it at 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to assist.

Thanks from the few of us that do our patriotic duty. God bless our U.S. of A. for freedom and the protector of the world.
