Hernandez Plumbing takes top honors in Electric Light Parade float competition

The entry from Hernandez Plumbing was named best overall float in the City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department’s contest for participants in the city’s 2023 Electric Light Parade.

In the commercial float category, The Salvation Army of Las Cruces took first place, Francy Emilade (food truck) was second and HD2 Studio was third.

In the non-commercial category, Mayfield Cheer won first place, Friends of the Community was second and Mesilla Valley Aerostat Association was third.

This year’s parade theme was “Red, White, and BOOM!” The parade had more than 60 entries, the city said.
