The Las Cruces Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (LCHCC) celebrates its 30th anniversary with its 2023 Annual Awards Banquet and Gala Friday, June 23.
This event will be held at Hotel Encanto, 705 S. Telshor Blvd., starting with a 6 p.m. cocktail hour.
The evening will feature a performance by Mariachi Flores Mexicana, renowned for their vibrant melodies and rich cultural heritage. Felipa Solis, executive director of El Paso Pro-Musica and the Center for Arts Entrepreneurship, and longtime broadcaster, will serve as mistress of ceremonies.
LCHCC welcomes guest Jamila Gilbert, Virgin Galactic Senior Manager for Internal Communications, who recently achieved the remarkable feat of becoming Virgin Galactic’s Astronaut 007. Gilbert will share her experiences and insights.
Synthia R. Jaramillo, distinguished Hispanic business leader and current Senior Vice President of Corporate Relations for the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, will be the keynote speaker. Jaramillo is recognized for her exceptional contributions to the small business sector and economic development.
Following the keynote speech, awards will be presented to distinguished individuals and organizations that contribute to this community through their commitment to service, diversity and inclusion in the following categories: Community Partner, Non-Profit of the Year, Campion De Cultura/Heritage Cultural Awards (2), Small Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year, Community Hero Awards (2) and a special Lifetime Achievement Award.
At the conclusion of gala, an after-party celebration will take place in Mezcla (inside Hotel Encanto) featuring the Trio Mexico Lindo.
The gala and after-party mark the chamber’s first in-person meeting after a period of virtual gatherings.
