PALM DESERT, Calif. – After the first round at the Wyoming Desert Invitational, the NM State men’s golf team finds itself in 11th place.
A red-hot start from Garrison Smith and Aidan Thomas pushed the Aggies up the leaderboard early on. Smith and Thomas were both tied for first place through the first four holes after shooting two-under on the stretch.
Much like Smith and Thomas, Joseph Robson played a really consistent first six holes of gold for the Aggies. Robson had made par on each of the first five holes before birdieing the par-three sixth.
Between holes nine and eleven, Alvaro Morales found his rhythm and knocked down a pair of birdies.
