Posted

The City of Las Cruces Museum of Nature and Science (MONAS) will host an Earth Day celebration 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the museum, 411 N. Main St. downtown.

Admission and activities are free and open to the public.

MONAS will be joined by the City of Las Cruces’ Sustainability Office and Solid Waste and Wastewater programs with information about how the city supports sustainable practices and what residents can do at home, the city said in a news release. There will also be demonstrations and activities presented by MONAS, the Las Cruces Railroad Museum, the city Museum of Art, the New Mexico State University Civil Engineering Department and the Doña Ana County Cooperative Extension Service Master Gardeners program.

Participants will learn about several conservation and sustainability topics, from reintroduction of the Mexican Grey Wolf to composting and temperature mapping, the city said.

MONAS is accessible from RoadRUNNER Transit Route 1 Stop 1.
