Nacimiento open house

Dec. 18 at historic J. Paul Taylor home in Mesilla

New Mexico Historic Sites and Friends of the Taylor Family Monument will host Nacimiento Open House, 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, in the Taylor-Mesilla Historic Property on the west side plaza in Mesilla.

The event is free to members of the 2022-23 Taylor Friends and $5 for non-members.

 During the open house, visitors will be able to see the J. Paul and Mary Taylor collection of more than 200 nacimientos (creches) from around the world.

The property is the home of former New Mexico State Rep. J. Paul Taylor, who turned 102 in August.

Visits will be in timed blocks of small groups, New Mexico Historic Sites said in a flyer about the event. Masks are required.
