Posted

The nonprofit American Southwest Theatre Company (ASTC) will host two fundraiser sessions of “Sip & Paint,” the first at 10:30 a.m. and the second at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, at New Mexico Vintage Wines (NMVW), 2461 Calle Principal in Mesilla, one-half block south of the historic Mesilla Plaza.

The cost is $45 per person and includes all art supplies.

You don’t need to have any experience as an artist to participate.

The event will also include a silent auction.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase. NMVW serves beer and wine, including Cowbelle Wines, along with wines made throughout New Mexico and craft brews from New Mexico beermakers.

Visit nmvintagewines.com.

The event is coordinated by Paint with Us, which organizes paint and sip events in Las Cruces, El Paso and throughout southern New Mexico.

Proceeds from the ASTC Sip & Paint will benefit New Mexico State University Theatre Department students by helping to pay for travel and other expenses, provide scholarships and sponsor guest artists such as professional actors, directors, choreographers and costume and set designers to visit NMSU.

ASTC was founded by Tony-winning playwright Mark Medoff in the 1980s.

“ASTC is excited about our upcoming fundraising event,” said ASTC Board President Denise Welsh. “ASTC has not hosted this type of event before.”
