Nonprofit names Las Cruces executive director

Community Options, Inc. (COI), a national nonprofit that supports people with disabilities, has promoted Noemi Olivas to executive director in Las Cruces. COI “develops innovative housing and employment services for 5,000 people with disabilities across 11 states. In New Mexico, the organization supports more than 200 people and their families. It manages 33 homes in New Mexico and more than 650 homes nationally.

In her new role, COI said Olivas will manage residential, employment and day supports for people with disabilities in Las Cruces and the surrounding area. She joined COI in 2010 as a direct support professional and most recently served as associate executive director.

Olivas, a Las Cruces native, received a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from New Mexico State University. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
