Police department expands office hours

Posted

The Las Cruces Police Department’s Station Office, which has been on an abbreviated schedule since March due to the public health emergency, is set to expand its operational days to two days a week.

LCPD’s Station Office is now open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Since March 18, the Station Office has been open to the public only on Mondays.

Incident and crash reports can be obtained in person from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays at the Station Office, 217 E. Picacho Ave. Motor vehicle crash reports are still available online at policereports.lexisnexis.com/. LCPD’s Station Office at the downtown police station will continue to be closed to visitors on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The Station Office at the East Mesa Public Safety Complex, at 550 N. Sonoma Ranch Blvd., remains closed to the public during the public health emergency.

Residents with questions or concerns, or who wish to report minor incidents, can call Central Dispatch, at 575-526-0795, or the station office at 575-528-4127. Telephone calls to LCPD’s Station Office can be made from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Residents who need to file an incident report should do the following:

  • Emergency: call 911.
  • Non-emergency: call (575) 526-0795.
  • Some minor incidents can be reported online by visiting www.las-cruces.org/153/Police and clicking the “File a Police Report Online” tab. Reports that can be filed online include incidents of graffiti, vandalism, lost property, theft of property or theft from a motor vehicle.

Masks or face-coverings must be worn inside all City buildings during the public health emergency.

The Las Cruces Police Department encourages the public to continue following recommendations set forth by state and federal officials on face-coverings and social distancing to help reduce the transmissions of Covid-19.
