UPDATE: Police investigate train vs. pedestrian crash

UPDATE, Thursday, Aug. 10 - The man struck and killed Sunday in Las Cruces by a northbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe train has been identified as 42-year-old Ryan Carl Hill.
 
Hill carried a Nevada driver’s license but had recently been residing in Las Cruces. No foul play is suspected in Hill’s death.

The crash occurred about 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, near Lohman Avenue and Amador Avenue. After the collision, the BNSF train came to a stop on the tracks and remained there for several hours as police conducted their investigation.
 
The train stoppage blocked railroad crossings for several hours between Amador Avenue and Avenida de Mesilla. All crossing were reopened Sunday evening once the BNSF train continued north.
