Mayor Ken Miyagishima and a contingent from Las Cruces recently visited Nienburg, Germany, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their Sister City partnership.
Delegation members included Mayor Ken Miyagishima and his wife, Rose; former Las Cruces Mayor Pro-Tempore Greg Smith; Allison Smith; City Councilor Yvonne Flores; Las Cruces Sister Cities Foundation President Tim Chappell; Las Cruces-Nienburg Affiliation Committee Chair Hale Huber; Las Cruces–Nienburg partnership founding members Elaine and Jim McKinney; Donna Racz; Sharon White; Sheryl Williams, Jon Juarez and Ronald Borunda, who is deputy director of Water for Las Cruces Utilities.
As part of the visit, the Las Cruces delegation will visit Nienburg’s Waste Disposal Facility to exchange ideas and resources that will improve wastewater treatment plants in both cities.
