Rebecca Duffin appointed district judge

Posted

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham filled a vacant seat on the Third Judicial District bench Monday with the appointment of Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge Rebecca Duffin, effective Feb. 17.

Duffin was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in 2010, and served for six years as an assistant district attorney, where she received honors as a domestic violence prosecutor, before being elected as magistrate judge in 2018 and reelected in 2022.

A year ago, Duffin was among seven applicants for a district court seat vacated by former District Judge Mary Rosner, who left at the end of 2022. Lujan Grisham selected Mark Standridge, who resigned late last year.
