RenFaire is Nov. 4-5 at Young Park

The theme of the 52nd Doña Ana County (DAAC) Renaissance ArtsFaire is “Reimagining the Renaissance.”

It will be held 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at Young Park, 850 S. Walnut St.

General admission is $25 for two tickets or $15 for one ticket. Children under age 10 are admitted free.

Two for $25 for Saturday or Sunday; one for $15.

New this year is the ArtsFaire "Magellan" Fun Run, which will be held Sunday morning, Nov. 5, at Young Park. Register at www.eventbrite.com/e/742245585527?aff=oddtdtcreator. The cost is $20 for ages 11 and up and free for ages 10 and under. Online registration closed Oct. 27.

 The Society for Creative Anachronism’s jousting and sword play will be a major attraction at both days of RenFaire, along with a wide range of musical performances and acts on several stages, regal processions and art. More than 80 vendors will participate, along with 18 vendors and eight local nonprofits. There will be beer and wine vendors in the Dragon’s Eye Tavern.

Emily Guerra from KRWG is this year’s emcee. Las Cruces magician Chris Mitchell is the emcee in the RenFaire Children’s Realm.

“I’m so excited about going,” said DAAC board member Robin Przybysz, who moved to Las Cruces from San Diego four months ago. “This will be my very first RenFaire ever.”

No pets will be allowed at the event except for registered service dogs.
