Support for additional power pedestals scheduled for installation near Plaza de Las Cruces

Posted

As part of the City’s commitment to improve customer service and provide enhanced support for Downtown Las Cruces activities, Facilities Management is working with a local vendor to install electrical pathways to support additional power pedestals.

The project is expected to start on Friday, August 28, and is anticipated to conclude by Friday, September 25, weather permitting. The contractor is expected to be on-site from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday.

The work primarily involves trenching and installing electrical conduit along E. Organ Avenue between the street and adjacent sidewalk to the south, and along N. Main Street between the street and adjacent sidewalk to the east, in front of the Plaza. Sidewalks and streets will normally be open, along with access to Plaza de Las Cruces. Barrels, cones, and warning tape will be placed as appropriate to delineate the work zone to address pedestrian and vehicular safety.

The City has verified that no conflicting public or private construction projects will take place in that immediate area during this time.

Access to businesses and residents will always be maintained.
