Twenty-five young actors, ages 7-19, in two casts will perform in A Children’s Theatre of the Mesilla Valley’s (ACT) spring production of “The Brave Little Tailor,” adapted by Brian Guehring from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale.
Mike DerrGuitar and Destiny Rios-Bain are directing the show’s Red Cast, and Luis Castro and Hunter Campbell are directing the Green Cast.
In the play, jesters, speaking in verse, introduce a young tailor “who has been discounted his entire life because he is small,” according to dramaticpublishing.com. “he young tailor, however, dreams of fighting dragons, and during one vivid fantasy he manages to kill seven flies in one blow. The tailor is brought before the cowardly king and his beautiful stepdaughter. The tailor then must find his own courage (with the help of the princess and the jesters) to battle a rampaging unicorn, two troublesome giants and a fierce dragon.”
“Our performances of ‘The Brave Little Tailor’ are fast approaching,” said ACT Executive Director Sue Rexroth. “The actors and directors from both casts have been working very hard and are excited to share with you the magic they have created!”
