El Paso Pro-Musica (EPPM) kicks off its 2023-24 season in Las Cruces with "Trio Reverón," performing at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Hotel Encanto, 705 S. Telshor Blvd.
Tickets are $25, with military and student discounts, and are available at eppm.org (click on “Shows & Tickets” and scroll down to “Trio Reveron at Mezcla”) or by calling EPPM at 915-747-8163.
The trio consists of Simon Gollo, violin; Horacio Contreras, piano; and Ana Maria Otamendi, piano.
Gollo is no stranger to Las Cruces, having served as the New Mexico State University philharmonic conductor for six years.
The trio’s main goal is to introduce audiences to underrepresented music from Latin America alongside contemporary and standard repertoire, EPPM said in a news release.
“These seasoned artists are active promoters of Latin American music through their work as scholars and entrepreneurs, and they have devoted their careers to the discovery of music from their native Venezuela and throughout Latin America,” EPPM said.
The concert celebrates National Hispanic Heritage month.
"I am thrilled to present this young dynamic Trio with their incredible unique sound and their commitment to Latin American classics," said EPPM Artistic Director Zuill Bailey. "El Paso Pro-Musica loves Las Cruces, and this is such a special way to share their talents and connect with the beloved community."
Seating is limited.
