Saturday, Dec. 2, as many as 100 semi-truck cabs (no trailers) will parade from Vado to the Field of Dreams, 2300 Tashiro Drive, bringing toys and joy.
It’s the 8th Annual Truckers Toy Drive and trucks are expected to arrive at the Field of Dreams around 10:30 a.m. Last year, 92 trucks made the trip, a slow drive from Vado to Las Cruces, escorted by law enforcement.
To participate in the parade, drivers are required to bring new, unwrapped toys to distribute toys to local families. Members of the public who wish to support the drive may also bring toys to the Field of Dreams.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the event, along with food, music, jumping balloons and other entertainment.
There will also be a truck show with awards and trophies for different categories.
Trucks will register and begin the parade at National Truck Stop, 16320 Stern Drive in Vado from 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday.
