Volunteers wanted for city cleanup week Oct. 1-7

The City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department Keep Las Cruces Beautiful program (KLCB) wants individuals, groups, businesses, clubs and civic organizations to join in the city’s week-long beautification event, Sunday-Saturday, Oct. 1-7, the city said in a news release.

KLCB is partnering with Keep Doña Ana County Beautiful, the Town of Mesilla, South Central Solid Waste Authority and New Mexico Department of Transportation for a community-wide clean up.

Cleanup supplies can be picked up 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, Sept. 25-29, and Monday-Friday, Oct.  2-7at Frank O'Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave.

Open-top trash containers will be available Saturday, Oct. 7, with times and locations to be announced.
