The NM State swimming and diving team opened its home slate with a 133-110 victory over North Texas on Friday evening at The Beast - Eastside Regional Recreation Center in El Paso, Texas. The Aggies claimed seven event wins and posted multiple podium sweeps throughout the meet to secure the meet triumph.

NMSU got off to a strong start in the pool as Juliet Nicholson captured the 1,000 freestyle in 10:40.91, while Laurel Hoskovec followed with a victory in the 200 freestyle after touching the wall in 1:56.06.

The Aggies continued to build momentum in the sprint events behind Dijana Mazumdar, who won both the 50 free (24.39) and 100 free (53.20).

NM State also dominated the 400 IM, sweeping the top two spots as Riley Crespo earned first place in 4:35.46 and Niamh Savory finished second in 4:41.99. The Aggies added another first-place finish in the 200 backstroke with Lainey Gloden swimming a 2:08.76.

On the boards, Mira Tinani led the way with a winning score of 268.95 in the 3-meter competition, while Peytton Moore added a third-place finish (235.50).

The Aggies closed the meet with strong relay performances, placing second in both the 400 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay. The quartet of Natalia Florian, Ellie Krauss, Laurel Hoskovec and Callie Ceshker turned in a runner-up finish in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:34.75.

With the win, NMSU improved its early-season dual-meet record while showcasing depth across both swimming and diving events.

NMSU continues its home stretch next weekend to host UTRGV on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the NM State Swimming and Diving Complex. The dual meet is set to begin at 11:30 a.m. MT as the Aggies look to build momentum in front of their home crowd. Results and additional meet information will be available at NMStateSports.com.
