City offers ‘paint night’ classes

Step-by-step paint classes will be offered Nov. 13 and Dec. 11 by the Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department, the city announced.

Both classes will feature in-person instruction at a cost of $20 for the instructor and supplies. Participants age 13 and up are welcome, but space is limited and registration, which opens Oct. 30, is required.

The classes will take at 6 p.m. on both dates at the East Mesa Recreation Center, 5589 Porter Drive, lasting approximately 90 minutes, the city said.

Beginning Oct. 30, registration will be available online at nmlascrucesweb.myvscloud.com, or during regular business hours at the following locations:

  • Parks and Recreation Department Administrative Office, 1501 E. Hadley Ave., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
  • Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave., 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
  • Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center, 1401 E. Hadley Ave., 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
  • Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
