The Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico (CFSNM) has added three new board members: Gary Bruner, Louis Reyes and Beryl Ramsey, CFSNM said in a news release.

Bruner is senior director of information technology and information security at El Paso Electric. He is an emeritus board member of the New Mexico Ronald McDonald House and was recently named a distinguished alumnus in the New Mexico State University College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences’ Department of Agricultural Business and Economics.

Reyes is an NMSU emeritus faculty member. In the NMSU College of Education, he served as an assistant professor of early childhood and bilingual education 2000-06, associate professor of early childhood, bilingual education and educational technologies 2011-17 and was dean of the graduate school 2011-17. Reyes earned his Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction at NMSU, with a focus in early childhood education and bilingual education. He also holds a master’s degree in teaching and a bachelor’s degree in social work. Reyes was director of the Children, Youth and Family Department’s Home Education Livelihood Program 1977-97.

Ramsey is interim CEO of Mountain View Regional Medical Center, which is part of Community Health Systems (CHS). Ramsey has been with CHS since 2015, with hospitals in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Missouri and Texas. She holds a master's degree in business administration from The University of Houston and bachelor's degree from the University of Texas School of Allied Health.

The new board members expand the background of the board with their various expertise in health care, education and information technology. They replace George Vescovo, Rod Reyes and Derrick Cuenca, who have become emeritus board members.

The nonprofit CFSNM has served as a community resource that connects donors to needs and supports charitable organizations for 31 years. It manages more than 200 endowments and more than 30 scholarships. The foundation serves Doña Ana, Hidalgo, Otero, Sierra, Grant, Lincoln and Luna counties.
