County seeks applicants to serve on Airport Advisory Board

Posted

The Airport Advisory Board for the Doña Ana County International Jetport at Santa Teresa seeks applicants to serve on the seven-member body.  Applications are due by 5 p.m., Friday, May 30.

Members work closely with the jetport manager, county engineer, planning director and a representative of the County Attorney’s Office to identify safety, growth, development or administration issues relevant to the airport.

Selected applicants will fulfill a three-year term which will run from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028.  Board members serve staggered three-year terms, meet monthly and periodically report to the Board of County Commissioners, recommend changes or inform about upcoming challenges and opportunities in the airport’s operations or administration.

All Airport Advisory Board meetings comply with the New Mexico Open Meetings Act, which means, among other things that the Board’s meetings are open to the public and agendas for regular and special meetings are published, at least 72 hours prior to the meetings and posted on the Doña Ana County website.

Applicants must reside in Doña Ana County or El Paso and the application includes an interest in serving, knowledge of aviation and airport issues, along with the applicant’s qualifications to serve. Licensed pilots are encouraged to apply.

The application is available on the County’s website at www.donaana.gov, under the About Us tab, then click on Apply for Committees/Boards.  To request an application, contact International Jetport Manager William Provance at (575) 644-2358 or williamp@donaana.gov.
