Early voting continues, expands Saturday

Early voting in the Nov. 7 local election began Oct. 10 and continues at the Doña Ana County Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd. Expanded early voting begins Saturday, Oct. 21, at locations in Las Cruces, Anthony, Hatch, Mesilla, Sunland Park and Chaparral. Expanded early voting is 11 a.m.- 7 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and continues through Saturday, Nov. 4.

Absentee voting and same-day voter registration also began Oct. 10. Tuesday, Oct. 24, is the last day to submit an application for a mail-in absentee ballot.

Voters in Las Cruces, Mesilla, Hatch, Sunland Park and Santa Teresa have municipal elections that include races for mayor (Las Cruces, Mesilla and Sunland Park); city town or village councilors or trustees (all five municipalities); municipal judges (Las Cruces and Hatch); races for school board in the Las Cruces, Gadsden and Hatch school districts; and five conservation district boards in the county. The Gadsden Independent School District and Hatch Valley Public Schools have bond questions on the ballot for voters who live in those school districts, and Doña Ana Community College has a $16 million general obligation bond that all county voters will consider.
