Electronic Caregiver, BeWellnm host health insurance enrollment

Electronic Caregiver (ECG), the national health technology company based in Las Cruces, is partnering with BeWellnm health insurance exchange to host a free health insurance enrollment event at the Electronic Caregiver Tower, 506 S. Main St. #1000.

The two-day event will take place 2-5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 13, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, July 14, in the tower’s seventh-floor event room, ECG said in a news release.

“The event provides the opportunity for New Mexico residents who recently lost Medicaid coverage and do not have access to health insurance through their employer to meet with enrollment experts and find low-cost, or even no-cost health insurance,” ECG said. “Those who are uninsured for other reasons and ready to shop for coverage are also invited to attend.”

In most cases, the first month of coverage is free and assistance provided during the event is also free, the news release said. Uninsured New Mexico residents are encouraged to act soon to avoid a gap in coverage.

Along with health insurance information provided by BeWellnm, ECG will host a booth demonstrating its innovative remote patient monitoring and personal emergency response products and services, the company said. Southern New Mexico Diabetes Outreach will provide no-cost health and wellness screenings at the event, including testing of blood glucose, hemoglobinA1c, blood pressure, heart rate, pulse oximetry, and body mass index. Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine will provide vision screenings and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico will have its Care Van mobile unit set up in the parking lot of the Electronic Caregiver Tower.

Attendees interested in enrolling in a health insurance plan should bring their 2022 tax filing income amount to the event, the news release said.
