The Roadrunner Food Bank is organizing three food distributions in the region this week, including a Saturday event in Las Cruces.
“Community members who need help with food are invited to attend the drive-through-formatted distributions,” the organization said in a news release. A variety of produce and protein foods will be provided.
The food bank said advanced registration is not required and that visitors should plan ahead by clearing trunks, truck beds and back seats. Volunteers and signs at the event will direct visitors and provide instructions.
The Las Cruces event will be at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the First Assembly of God church, 5605 Bataan Memorial West.
Other events this weekend will be 9 a.m. Friday at the Otero County Fairgrounds, 401 Fairgrounds Road, Alamogordo; and 9 a.m. Sunday at the Sunland Park Sports Complex, 4700 McNutt Road, Santa Teresa.
Advance questions about the distributions can be answered at the food assistance line at 505-349-5340 or by email at foodassistance@rrfb.org.
The nonprofit Roadrunner Food Bank is a Feeding America member organization, serving as a distribution hub in collaboration with local organizers and host of specialized programs. It reported distributing 46 million pounds of food in 2023.
