Grant helps local business ensure cat health

Posted

The Cat’s Meow Resource and Adoption Center received a $5,000 grant from Petco Love earlier this year.

“These funds enabled us to facilitate spay/neuter surgeries for 50 felines and to purchase respiratory vaccines which are vitally important for the health and well-being of young kittens, as well as older cats,” said Cat’s Meow founder Michelle Corella.

Corella said Cat’s Meow also has an opportunity to buy the property it has been renting for more than a decade at 2211 N. Mesquite St.

“We are actively fundraising for a down payment, with a timeline of April 30, 2026,” Corella said.

The Cat’s Meow has found homes for more than 3,000 cats and kittens since 2014. With community support, Corella said the organization has found homes for 400 cats and kittens this year alone and has facilitated spay/neuter surgeries for approximately 700 felines.
