Dark Circles Contemporary Dance company of Las Cruces will host the world premiere of its production "Ten-Gallon" Thursday-Sunday, Oct. 12-15, at Pebble Hills High School’s Black Box Theatre, 14400 Pebble Hills Blvd. in El Paso.

Performances are 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 12-14, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15.

Tickets are $25 for the 80-minute show.

“Ten Gallon” is “a captivating and innovative contemporary dance production,’ said Dark Circles founder and artist director Joshua L. Peugh. “Ten Gallon” is “a groundbreaking exploration of movement, narrative and humanity inspired by the allure of the American West. It delves into the intricate tapestry of the western frontier, weaving together themes of courage, resilience and the human spirit.”

The production "showcases the exceptional talents of our internationally acclaimed and local dancers as they translate the spirit of the West into a mesmerizing dance narrative,” Peugh said. “The choreography seamlessly fuses contemporary dance with elements of western imagery, inviting the audience on a transformative journey that transcends time and tradition.”

The nonprofit Dark Circles was founded in 2010 by Peugh and Cho Hyun Sang in Seoul, South Korea. Since its inception, the company has become a trailblazer in contemporary dance. It moved to Las Cruces in 2021.
