Las Cruces has taken the number seven spot in CNN’s Americas Best Towns to Visit in 2025 list.
The list — which looked at hundreds of cities across the United States — finds the best places to travel to by looking at the city's attractions, food and beverage options, cultural and nightlife scenes, diversity, sense of identity, proximity to other interesting spots and “wow factors.”
Las Cruces scored high in “blend of cultures, jaw-dropping scenery, outdoor access and day trips.”
Prominent local hikes such as La Cueva, prehistoric trackways, and Dripping Springs are all highlighted as must-dos in the city.
Downtown also got a special shoutout with the Farmers and Crafts Market being listed as a great place to soak in the local culture and buy authentic Mexican food and — of course — green chile.
Local traditions like the Our Lady of Guadalupe Fiesta and day trips to White Sands National Park and Columbus are also showcased in the article.
Ithaca, NY, Missoula, MT, and Asheville, NC came in first, second and third respectively.
