Nancy Carol Coates, 84

Nancy Carol Coates, 84, of Vado, NM, passed away on August 26, 2026, in Las Cruces’ Mountain View Hospital from complications with cancer.

Nancy was born in Kansas City, MO to Ruth and Neil Lidstone on October 17, 1941, and she attended Las Cruces High, then later moved to Youngstown, OH, where she graduated high school.

She had two children, Jim Anglin and Lisa Anglin-Burris with her first husband, Bill Anglin.

She later married Timothy Coates on June 16, 1978, in Hatch, NM. In 1998 the Coates moved to Red Rock, NM to run a ranch consisting of 21 sections. Nancy and her husband, Tim, were active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hatch, NM and later in Lordsburg, NM and currently in Las Cruces, NM.

Mrs. Coates is survived by her husband, Timothy Coates in Vado, NM; her son, Jim Anglin from Atlanta, GA; Lisa Anglin-Burris from Vado, NM; grandchildren Jordan Burris from Duncan, OK and his wife, Jessica Burris; Amy Burris from Denver, CO; Jake Lujan from Healdton, OK and his wife, Courtney Lujan; Zachary Lujan from Las Cruces, NM; great grandchildren Boston Burris from Duncan, OK and Kayden Harris of Denver, CO.

Nancy’s funeral is scheduled for September 12, 2026, at the Hatch Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (210 Herrera Rd) at 10am, followed by the burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery at 101 Apajo Way (off Hwy 26) in Hatch, NM.
