NM State made multiple pushes on Saturday at Presley Askew Field at Johnson Stadium but could not overcome Towson’s three‑run seventh inning, falling 8-6 despite a 10‑hit effort. The Aggies scored in the first, second, fifth and ninth, but left 13 runners on base.

After Towson took a 2–1 lead in the second, Chris Daniels tied the game with a solo home run in the bottom half. The Tigers responded with three in the third to go up 5-2, but NMSU rallied for three in the fifth. This was highlighted by an RBI walk from Cole Rogers, an infield RBI single from Dane Woodcook and a hit‑by‑pitch RBI for Boston Vest, evening the score at 5-5.

Towson regained control with a three‑run seventh. NMSU threatened again in the ninth as Easton Rulli was hit by a pitch and Daniels singled for his fourth hit of the day. Rogers then drove in a run with a single to pull the Aggies within 8-6 before the rally came up short.

Daniels was 4-for-5 on the day, while Rogers drove in two runs, including an RBI single in the ninth and a bases‑loaded walk in the fifth, finishing 2‑for‑4. He had four hits and five RBIs over Saturday and Sunday’s contests.

On the mound, the Aggies were led by senior Jack Turner who came on in relief and tossed five innings and recorded a career-high nine strikeouts. Asa Briggs closed out the game with a scoreless ninth.
