The football field in Aggie Memorial Stadium will look a little different come football season thanks to a new partnership between Nusenda Credit Union and New Mexico State University.
The five-year partnership will allow Nusenda to have its logo on the field during games. This decision comes after the NCAA lifted its long-held ban on corporate sponsors on fields in June of 2024.
The new rules from the NCAA allow for teams to put a single sponsor on the 50-yardline as well as two small sponsors elsewhere on the field.
In a statement, NMSU Acting Director of Athletics Amber Burdge said the department is grateful for the partnership and that “this five-year agreement comes at a pivotal time as we continue to build momentum around student-athlete support, facility enhancement, and community engagement.”
Both Nusenda and NMSU declined to disclose what NMSU received in return for allowing Nusenda’s logo on the football field.
The Aggies’ first home game will be on August 30 against Rhode Island-based Bryant University.
