Organ Mountain runners top 10 at state

Ashley Galaz finished third at the 2025 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico Class 5A Girls Cross Country Championships Saturday, Nov. 8 in Albuquerque. The Organ Mountain freshman covered the 5K course in 19:22.2 to finish just ahead of fourth-place competitor Ruby Brucker-Polk of La Cueva.

A pair of sophomores, Gianna Rahmer of Eldorado and Mariah Galbraith from Rio Rancho, were the top two at the state meet.

Mayfield senior Arabella Richardson and senior Eva Nolan of Centennial finished in 35th and 36th positions among other local runners, while Organ Mountain sophomore Isabella Barlow captured 45th, followed closely by her freshman teammate, Jaymie McBroom, who was 48th.

In the 5A boys competition, Organ Mountain sophomore Daxton Coombs also earned a Top 10 finish as his 16:21.8 put him in ninth position. Las Cruces senior Jacob Sierra finished 21st, with Organ Mountain teammates, sophomore Beaux Beasley (31st) and senior Aiden Poppy (33rd) also among top local finishers.

Ethan Mondragon, a senior at Centennial, and junior Keller Ford from Centennial crossed the finish nearly side-by-side in 37th and 38th place. Their teammate, sophomore Liam Macmanus captured 43rd place, while junior Mason Dean of Centennial was 46th.
