Potters’ Guild hosts ‘Fire and Fiber’ at Tombaugh Gallery in June

Posted

The Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces presents “Fire and Fiber 2022” at the Tombaugh Gallery Friday, June 3-Sunday, June 26.

The show is a biennial exhibition showing collaborative works of art by ceramic and fiber artists that has been presented since 2000. There is a new category this year, as Potters’ Guild members who work in both ceramics and fiber can enter works of art that encompass both media.

Awards for outstanding artwork in the show will be given by Las Cruces quilter and painter Dori McKay, who is a Potters’ Guild member.

“Fire and Fiber 2022” will open with a wine reception, 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 3, at Tombaugh Gallery, which is part of Unitarian Universalist church, 2000 S. Solana Drive.

The gallery is open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and opens at 11 a.m. Sundays.

After the Tombaugh Gallery show, “Fire and Fiber 2022” will move to the Deming Art Center, 100 S. Gold Ave. in Deming, July 2-29.

The Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces was formed in 1981, according to www.pottersguildlc.org.
