RoadRUNNER Transit offers free fares on Election Day

Posted

RoadRUNNER Transit reminds the community that it continues to operate fare-free bus services for trips on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020.

Each year on Election Day, RoadRUNNER Transit has offered free fares to ensure people are able to access their polling places with ease.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic response, RoadRUNNER Transit began offering its riders fare-free bus services in early Spring in recognition of the tough economic times faced by the community and to ensure the health and safety of its passengers and staff.

“In these difficult times we continue to support our community. The lack of accessible transportation should not be a barrier to voting, continuing to provide free service on this important day is the least we can do,” said Mike Bartholomew, Transit Administrator.

RoadRUNNER Transit is operating on a reduced schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday until further notice. RoadRUNNER Transit is taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our riders and staff.

In efforts to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, face coverings are required on all transit services and seating has been adjusted for social distancing requirements. Riders will not be allowed to ride the bus without a COVID-safe face covering worn over the nose and mouth at all times. Buses are given sanitizing wipe downs every two hours and thoroughly cleaned each evening.
