EMPTY BOWLS

Silent auction adds to Empty Bowls tradition

Posted

Shhh! It’s a silent auction.

In addition to more than 1,000 bowls and homemade soup from more than 40 local restaurants, the 30th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser will feature more than a dozen items donated from a local collection.

Empty Bowls is 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 225 W. Griggs Ave.

Tickets are $20.

The silent auction items are pieces from widely acclaimed artists and potters, including John Gill, Tom Coleman, Steven Hill, Lisa Orr; whiskey/wine cups by Chris Gustin and Doug Casebeer, vintage pieces by Janice Cook and Rich Hepp, and bowls by Lisa Marshall and San Lorenzo artist Kate Brown, Archey said.

Proceeds from the fundraiser go to El Caldito Soup Kitchen.

The soup bowls are handmade by members of the Potter’s Guild of Las Cruces, which sponsors Empty Bowls.

For more information, call El Caldito at 575-525-3831 and 575-636-0423. Visit www.pottersguildlc.org
