The Trump Administration has revoked the international student visas of three more New Mexico State University students, raising the number to nine as of April 15, 2025.
Amanda Bradford, spokesperson for NMSU, told the Las Cruces Bulletin that NMSU is checking a federal database regularly for updates as to how many NMSU international students lose their visas. On April 11, the university learned that the Trump Administration had revoked three more, she said.
NMSU cannot release names or other information regarding the students, such as whether they are undergraduates or graduate students, their home countries or their names, Bradford said.
NMSU first became aware of three international students losing their international visa status through a federal database check on Monday, April 7th. As of April 8th, NMSU officials became aware of three more, which increased the number to six international students who the Trump Administration had targeted, preventing them from completing their studies in the U.S.
NMSU’s spring semester ends May 9th. Students are losing their visa status while they are in the midst of their semester and getting ready for final exams and final research papers.
