The Las Cruces Fire Department is investigating a fire that left two people injured and five people displaced.
LCFD said they were called out to a burning house on the 500 block of Second Street around 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 24. In all, LCFD said five people were helped away from the house, including two men, two women and a child.
The house sustained heavy fire and smoke damage after a 30-minute battle to subdue the blaze.
“Two residents were burned and received treatment at a local hospital. No firefighters were injured in the incident. The American Red Cross was called to help find temporary accommodations for the residents,” LCFD said.
LCFD did not have damage estimates available.
