Las Cruces has not lost since November 2023. This year's team is 23-0 and has yet to lose a set. It will begin its title defense as the tournament's top seed after a first-round bye. The Bulldawgs will face the winner of the No. 8-9 matchup between Cibola and Rio Rancho in a second-round clash at 6 p.m. Nov. 13.
Two-time player of the year Addison Massey leads the way for the state's top team, with Sydney Pipkin setting the table for the big-swinging senior hitter.
Organ Mountain (14-9) enters the 5A tournament as the No. 10 seed. The Knights face No. 7-seeded Los Lunas at noon Nov. 13. A win would advance Organ Mountain to a matchup against No. 2-seed La Cueva later in the day.
Centennial (13-10) comes in right behind the Knights as the No. 11 seed. The Hawks will face sixth-seeded Santa Fe to open state championship play. That contest also takes place Nov 13 at noon, with the winner set to face third-seeded Cleveland in Round 2.
