The Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico is reactivating their Greatest Needs Impact Fund for Lincoln and Otero County to help Ruidoso residents after the floods that have reportedly taken the lives of three people, two of whom were children.
The Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico said through a news release that the fund has helped deliver over $1.1 million in aid to Ruidoso since the 2024 Salt and South Fork fire and the subsequent flooding that hit the community last year.
This fund had been reserved for long-term recovery efforts but has since been deployed to help Ruidoso, according to the news release.
According to the release, CFSNM has sent over $20,000 to the village in less than 24 hours of the floods happening.
Terra Winter, president and chief executive officer of CFSNM, said that she and the Foundation remain “deeply committed to standing beside our neighbors — both in this moment of urgent need and in the months ahead as they rebuild.”
CFSNM said that donations to help Ruidoso can be made on their website and checks can be mailed to 2640 El Paseo Road, Las Cruces, NM 88001.
