In the wake of Friday’s mass shooting at Young Park, several area organizations are providing free services during a Family Assistance and Resource Center on Monday and Tuesday at the Las Cruces Convention Center, 680 E. University Ave.

The Family Assistance and Resource Center is intended for anyone impacted by the tragedy that occurred at Young Park late Friday, March 21. Whether a victim, a relative of a victim, a person present at the park during the shooting or just in need of support, the community organizations at the convention center will be there to offer assistance.

The resource is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, March 24 and March 25. All services are free and open to anyone who resides within Las Cruces and Doña Ana County.

If in need of transportation to and from the convention center, dial the Essential Services line at 211. Roadrunner Transit also provides free transportation throughout Las Cruces.

Participating organizations include the Las Cruces Police and Fire Departments, the Office of Emergency Management, New Mexico State University Police Department, Families and Youth Inc., the Southern New Mexico Community Foundation, the Salvation Army, New Mexico Crisis Triage Center, La Pinon SAR, Catholic Charities, Heart for the World, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the NMSU Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Program, Little Footprints and victims’ assistance programs from LCPD and the FBI Las Cruces office.
